Llangynhafal – Cycling at its Hub

The Golden Lion Inn at Llangynhafal has the best of both worlds. Superb beer with good food and hospitality. And for added measure, customers who enjoy cycling and a rich social life together, and sometimes raising funds for good causes.
In June 2015 twenty six of them cycled 210 miles from Cardiff, returning home through the valleys and Black Mountains to Hay on Wye, up to Ludlow, and then on to Shrewsbury before heading home to the Vale of Clwyd. They were raising funds for the state of the arts Bone Cancer Centre at Gobowen Hospital.

I met a few their riders at Penmaenmawr today. They were on a 100 mile social ride.
Not the most promising day’s for  the weather. But that’s what village life should be all about – friendly people, spending friendly time together – whatever the weather!
