Many Years of Peace in Europe.

After 75 years of peace in Europe, who could have believed the UK for reasons justified or otherwise, would pick a quarrel with our European friends across the channel on something that has to do with far more than simply trade?

The late popular cycling columnist and lecturer ‘Petronella’ writes of her sadness and fears for continental friends and places in the early months of WW2.  Perhaps through her eyes we can gain some understanding of where our neighbours are coming from in these times of misunderstanding.  Or have we learnt nothing from these many years of peaceful European friendship and co-existence?
